Highlights of Opening Day Include Up-Close and Personal Event with Robben Ford, Children's Workshop, and All-Star Guitar Night

BOSTON, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The opening day of Premier Guitar Festival Boston blasted-off with a bang and kept on buzzing. The myriad of high-energy workshops, jam sessions, demos, vintage buyers/traders, and live performances kept attendees onsite all day.

Robben Ford, named one of Musician magazine's "100 Greatest Guitarists of the 20th Century," jump started the event with a standing-room only workshop in which he discussed his new album, Miles Davis as his biggest musical influence, and then provided the audience with a live sampler of his legendary sound.

The "Little Kids Rock" workshop, led by educator Jesse Cervantes, had youngsters rocking while promoting music education for the next generation. "Playing the guitar is difficult, but is valuable in teaching our children how to think critically and to express themselves," said Lori Childs of Rockland, MA, who joined her four kids at the workshop. "Jesse made it so simple and easy to understand for the kids."

Activity for the over 75 exhibitors was brisk, with several companies, including Taylor Guitars, who unveiled the new Taylor Solidbody Electric Guitar. Available in three models: the Classic, Standard and Custom, the new model goes into production October 1st and will be available for purchase November 23rd, 2007.
