'Telephony' Magazine Honors Verizon for Its New Broadband-Powered Payment-Processing Service for Small Businesses
'Telephony' Magazine Honors Verizon for Its New Broadband-Powered Payment-Processing Service for Small Businesses
Verizon Merchant Services Payments Powered by Chase Paymentech Wins 2007 Telephony Innovation Award
NEW YORK, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon has won a 2007 Telephony Innovation Award for creating and launching a new small-business payment- processing service that combines broadband technology with effective teamwork. The award was presented today by Telephony magazine, a Penton Media publication.
"Verizon Online is making it easier for retailers and other small and medium-sized businesses to move to broadband access for payment processing -- improving productivity and helping to save money in the process," said Carol Wilson, the magazine's editor-in-chief.
Verizon Online teamed with Chase Paymentech to create Verizon Merchant Services Payments Powered by Chase Paymentech (VMS), which combines broadband service with credit-card processing services to give small businesses productivity gains and the kind of discounts on card-payment-processing solutions that were once available only to larger businesses.
By using broadband technology as a replacement for the dial-up modems that more than 90 percent of small businesses currently use to process credit card transactions, Verizon Online enables its small-business customers to process these transactions in a fraction of the time it takes when using a dial-up modem.
In addition, Verizon Online offers wireless capabilities that will allow customers to process payments wirelessly within their business, or when working off-site.
"Verizon is highly focused on developing value-added services for our small and medium-sized business customers," said Tom Roche, vice president for business data products at Verizon. "And we're proud to develop and market solutions that help them better compete in the marketplace.
"Today's businesses need to quickly process credit and debit card transactions. By using Verizon's buying power, we can offer our small- and medium-sized business customers this service at a great discount when coupled with Verizon High Speed Internet for Business," he said.
The Telephony Innovation Awards, given for the first time at Telephony LIVE: The 2007 Telecom Summit in Dallas, recognize service providers that have developed unique or first-to-market offerings that utilize technology or address customers' needs in a new way.
"Many service providers are chasing the SMB customer, especially retail operations that are ever-more dependent on connectivity to do routine business," Wilson said. "Verizon Merchant Services Payments Powered by Chase Paymentech not only streamlines that whole process for small businesses, but provides them with wireless solutions for remote operations and with discounts on payment processing."
The Telephony Innovation Awards are focused on five key categories -- design, delivery, pricing, bundling, and packaging or customer service -- and address various market segments, including consumers, corporate enterprises and small-to-medium businesses.
Telephony Publisher Mark Hickey said, "We established these awards to recognize innovation in the industry at a time when all service providers are trying to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive market. The award winners are companies who chose not to just follow the technology curve but to bring their customers services that meet their needs in distinctive ways."
Telephony received more than 80 nominations for its Innovation Awards. The process was handled by the mBLAST customer relationship management system. Judging was done by members of the Telephony editorial staff and guest judges Teresa Mastrangelo of Broadbandtrends.com and Cindy Whelan of Current Analysis. Award recipients were recognized at a special presentation during Telephony's two-day conference, Telephony LIVE, in Dallas.

The Future of Wireless Broadband -- "Wireless" and "broadband" are no longer mutually exclusive. Virtually any application can be mobilized, no matter what its requirements. Moderated by Craig Mathias, Principal, Farpoint Group. Speakers include Cisco Systems, AT&T and Motorola.

'From Fatigued to Fantastic!' Provides Antidote to Energy Crisis
'From Fatigued to Fantastic!' Provides Antidote to Energy Crisis
NEW YORK, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The "perfect storm" in American health has already hit. Over the past 10 years, the incidence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FMS) has exploded by 400 to 1000 percent, as documented in five separate studies. The numbers for those with CFS in the U.S., previously estimated at 500,000, are now being re-tallied at closer to 2.5 million. Previous estimates placed the number of Americans with FMS at 6 million. Studies worldwide suggest this has likely gone up in the last decade to approximately 24 million Americans.
The publication of From Fatigued to Fantastic! (Avery/Penguin Group USA, Oct. 4, 2007) by board certified internist Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, provides a timely solution following the recent recognition by the CDC, NIH, and FDA that CFS and FMS are bona fide and devastating illnesses. Newly updated in a third edition, the best-seller which has sold over 500,000 copies provides a comprehensive understanding of CFS/FMS and the latest research, as well as a step-by-step guide to the "SHIN protocol" that has helped so many thousands of these patients get their lives back.
"CFS and Fibromyalgia are not the 'yuppie flu' as they have been called. They are the signature diseases of modern life," explains Dr. Teitelbaum, who himself suffered from the disease as a medical student. "If you're exhausted and unable to sleep, experience brain fog, weight gain and low libido, you probably have CFS; if you have widespread pain as well, then you likely also have fibromyalgia. They're two sides of the same coin.
"CFS/FMS reflects a personal energy crisis where more energy is spent than the body is able to produce," says Dr. Teitelbaum. "The area using the most energy, the hypothalamus, effectively blows a fuse and since it controls sleep along with hormonal function, blood pressure and body temperature, people are unable to sleep even though they're exhausted. The energy meltdown also causes widespread muscle shortening (think: writers cramp or rigor mortis) with widespread pain."
Dr. Teitelbaum's "SHIN Protocol," featured in the book and published in the Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (8:2, 2001), was found to improve the quality of life an average of 75 percent at 3 months and 90 percent at 2 years, with 90 percent of the study patients improving. "SHIN" addresses four vital areas of health: Sleep; Hormonal deficiencies (despite normal blood tests); Infections; and Nutritional deficiencies.
Another study by Dr. Teitelbaum published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (12:9, 2006) showed that a simple 5-carbon sugar called ribose (5000 mg 3x/day) increased energy in fibromyalgia patients by an average of 45 percent after only two weeks.
"Having had CFS and Fibromyalgia back in 1975, which left me homeless for much of the year, I know what patients are going through," says Dr. Teitelbaum. "The good news is that it is now 2007 and these illnesses have become very treatable!" For more information on Dr. Teitelbaum's work, visit http://www.vitality101.com/.
Jacob Teitelbaum, MD is Medical Director of the national Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers, Inc. (http://www.fibroandfatigue.com/), and director of The Anapolis Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Research Center. He is the author of From Fatigued to Fantastic! Covey to discuss the pivotal role trust plays in building a successful company
ATLANTA, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Six Disciplines and the Vail Leadership Institute will welcome Stephen M. R. Covey Jr., renowned author of the bestseller, "The Speed of Trust - The One Thing that Changes Everything," to Atlanta on Monday, November 5 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Gwinnett Center for Performing Arts (6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097). Covey's book, "The Speed of Trust," was named by BusinessWeek as one of the top five career books of 2006. The New York Times calls Stephen M. R. Covey the next potential business sage and guru, citing "The Speed of Trust" as the most intriguing business book of Fall 2006. USA Today claims, "Vital to good business ... Covey ... has a finger on the pulse of something important."
As a sought-after and compelling keynote speaker and advisor on trust, leadership, ethics, and high performance, Covey speaks to audiences around the world, and his message of trust resonates with individuals and organizations alike.

Conde Nast Traveler Launches Three-Part World Savers Partnership: World Savers Congress, World Savers Awards, and Conde Nast Traveler Five & Alive Fund
Conde Nast Traveler Launches Three-Part World Savers Partnership: World Savers Congress, World Savers Awards, and Conde Nast Traveler Five & Alive Fund
Magazine Rallies Travel Industry to Address Issues of Global Poverty, Health, Education, and the Environment by Recognizing Accomplishments and Promoting Action
NEW YORK, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Conde Nast Traveler hosts the first World Savers Congress and World Savers Awards in New York City. The event, held at Gotham Hall, will serve as a forum for industry leaders from companies including Marriott, Ritz Carlton, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Regent Cruises, Air France, and Lindblad Expeditions to explore issues surrounding travel and social responsibility. The event is part of the magazine's World Savers Partnership, a three-pronged approach to rally readers, the travel industry, and non-profit social activists behind initiatives that can positively affect the communities in which we travel.
"The travel industry's power is twofold: It is both a vehicle for enlightenment -- it enables travelers to experience the world and learn from what they see -- and a potentially powerful agent of global change," said Klara Glowczewska, Editor in Chief, Conde Nast Traveler. "The Conde Nast Traveler World Savers Partnership is dedicated to the proposition that there is much to do and much to learn -- and that we as an industry can make a difference."
J.W. Marriott, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Marriott International, award winner and long time supporter of socially responsible travel, will be in attendance to announce the expansion of Marriott's "Spirit to Serve Our Communities" initiatives. These new programs will strengthen the communities in which the company operates through the following signature issues: shelter and food, environment, readiness for hotel careers, vitality of children, and embracing people with disabilities. Additionally, Marriott will announce the expansion of its work with the International Tourism Partnership's Youth Career Initiative.
Developed to help travelers and the industry explore issues surrounding socially responsible travel, influence their decisions, and encourage them to actively participate in environmental and social sustainability, the World Savers Partnership has three parts:
Conde Nast Traveler World Savers Congress
The World Savers Congress will bring together leaders of the travel industry -- collectively the world's largest, at $7 trillion in revenue this year -- with a range of organizations and resources to help them implement even more effective programs across the globe. Featured speakers Richard C. Holbrooke, President and CEO, Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria and former UN Ambassador to the United Nations, and Bill Drayton, Chairman and CEO, Ashoka, will address the ways in which business -- the travel industry included -- can help make a difference while maintaining profits, and the various creative grassroots solutions to current global, social, environmental, economic, and health-related problems.
Panel discussions, moderated by Conde Nast Traveler editors, will spotlight two key areas where the industry can have an impact: the environment and economic development. These discussions, designed to promote debate and creative thinking about how tourism companies can help make a positive difference in the communities in which they operate, will include panelists steeped in the issues, including environmental activist and business leader John Paul Dejoria, Jamie Sweeting of the Center for Environmental Leadership in Business, and Tricia Barnett of Tourism Concern. Other speakers throughout the day will include Martha Honey from the Center on Ecotourism and Sustainable Development and Louis D'Amore of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism. Industry executives participating in the discussions will include Jim FitzGibbon, President, Worldwide Hotel Operations, Four Seasons; Simon Cooper, President of Ritz-Carlton; Sven Lindblad, Founder of Lindblad Expeditions; and Mark Conroy, President of Regent Seven Seas.
Conde Nast Traveler World Savers Awards
In an effort to encourage the industry to expand social responsibility programs on a local and global scale, Conde Nast Traveler will recognize those who are already making a difference with the 2007 World Savers Awards ceremony. Highlighted in the September 2007 issue, the World Savers Awards are given to hotels, tour operators, and destinations that are considered stewards of social responsibility in their communities through their work in these five areas: education, health, poverty relief, cultural and environmental preservation, and wildlife conservation. Companies honored at this year's awards include:
Chain Hotels & Resorts: Marriott
Recipient: Bill Marriott, CEO
At Marriott, each manager at the 2,800 properties is judged in part by his or her "Spirit to Serve" community programs. Paid volunteers are involved in a variety of initiatives, from career training programs (like Marriott's Youth Career Initiatives for at risk kids) to feeding the hungry and planting trees. Marriott has also adopted a green philosophy, reducing greenhouse gases by 70,000 tons last year, and has received Energy Star labels for more that 200 properties.
Small Hotels & Resorts: Jungle Bay Resort and Spa, Dominica
Sam Raphael, Owner/Founder
Jungle Bay Resort and Spa epitomizes sustainable tourism through its use of local labor, materials and food stuffs. The hotel offers micro-loans to local entrepreneurs, funds scholarships, supports a local orphanage, and encourages guests to experience the local community.
Destinations: Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, South Africa
Gus Van Dyk, General Manager
A conservation program fueled by tourism, Tswalu has replaced a cattle farm, whose livestock were decimating the wildlife, with a lodge and private villa in an effort to reintroduce native species into the environment. Former farm employees are being trained for better paying tourism jobs that offer a stronger career path. Tswalu has earned the Fair Trade in Tourism trademark awarded by an NGO based on wages, working conditions, and other criteria.
Tour Operators: Buffalo Tours, Southeast Asia
Dr. Tran Trong Kien, Founder
Buffalo Tours integrates off-the-beaten-path villages, volunteerism, and homestays into programs run by local guides. The company donates three percent of its profits to humanitarian causes and has helped the Mai Chau Valley tribes sustain traditional weaving and farming.
The winners of the 2007 World Savers Awards have been scrutinized by Conde Nast Traveler's editorial staff and by a panel of experts, who rated each on its environmental initiatives and community work. For a full listing of award winners and more information on the 2007 World Savers Awards and Congress, visit makeadifference.cntraveler.com.
In addition to recognizing the work of other companies and encouraging them to do more, Conde Nast Traveler has also pledged to expand editorial coverage focused on socially responsible travel, and has launched a dedicated web presence www.makeadifference.cntraveler.com.
Conde Nast Traveler Five & Alive Fund
Nearly 10 million children in impoverished countries die before they reach the age of five of preventable illnesses because they lack the simplest of things -- clean drinking water, basic medicines, mosquito netting, and access to vaccines. To address the needs of children globally, Conde Nast Traveler is harnessing the power of its readers and of the industry through the creation of the Conde Nast Traveler Five & Alive Fund. The fund will support children under five in 36 countries by supplying medicines and safe water and improving nutrition. Readers can learn more about the fund and make donations by visiting makeadifference.cntraveler.com. It takes very little to have an impact: A $10 contribution will protect a mother and child from malaria for three years, and a $25 donation will buy lifesaving antibiotics for more than 100 children with pneumonia. Conde Nast Traveler has donated a portion of all subscriptions made through cntraveler.com in the month of September and is encouraging the travel industry to support the fund by providing opportunities for travelers to donate.
In coming months, the World Savers Partnership will take many forms as the travel industry rallies behind this effort. For the latest updates on the Partnership and how to be a socially responsible traveler, visit makeadifference.cntraveler.com.
Unlike many other travel publications, Conde Nast Traveler does not accept free travel and accommodations, and its correspondents, as far as possible, travel anonymously. The result is travel the way consumers experience it -- good and bad, with reporting that is fair, honest, and independent. Conde Nast Traveler has won six National Magazine Awards and is the only travel publication to have won this highest honor in magazine publishing. Conde Nast Traveler, the 2005 Zagat Survey Best Travel Magazine, has a paid circulation of more than 800,000, a total audience of 3,190,000, and is published by the Conde Nast Publications, Inc.

National Boss Day is October 16
National Boss Day is October 16
Patrick Lencioni gives much needed advice for bosses and their employees in his New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling book:
THE THREE SIGNS OF A MISERABLE JOB
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Boss Day is October 16. It is a day not a lot of people acknowledge because they really have no cause for celebration. But doesn't every boss want their staff of direct reports to be happy and fulfilled in their jobs? And don't most employees want a more satisfying work life? This is likely the truth but the reality is most managers don't know how to make it happen and most employees don't know how to get there.
It is actually quite easy and, according to Pat Lencioni, it really only takes three things to create job satisfaction. In his new book, "The Three Signs of a Miserable Job," (Jossey-Bass, August 2007, $24.95, Cloth), Lencioni spells out what makes a job miserable and he also offers the solutions to turning a miserable job into a satisfying one. "The Three Signs of a Miserable Job," has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, on CNBC and globally on Reuters and has hit the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Amazon bestseller lists.
"No one is immune to job misery -- it touches every profession imaginable from restaurant service worker, to middle manager, to NBA superstar," says Lencioni. Countless sources support this statement including a recent USA Today poll, which found that "people unhappy with their jobs is at an all time high." Lencioni, known for his ability to net-out complicated theories into actionable models, offers a practical solution for managers to end job misery -- one that's both simple and costs nothing.
Following the format that has yielded Lencioni over two and a half million copies in book sales worldwide, the book is written using a gripping business fiction format with characters any reader can relate to. This book's main character, Brian Bailey, is a retired CEO that sets out to discover the X factor in high-achieving organizations. What Brian learns is that a fulfilled workforce, with low turnover and high job satisfaction is the key.
In real life, Lencioni develops his models while out in the field speaking and consulting to a wide range of organizations, including Southwest Airlines, Cisco Systems, the NFL, the NBA, the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and others. Like all Lencioni's models, the three signs may appear simple at first glance, but the fact remains that managers simply aren't giving people what they need to succeed -- his actionable approach is often just what's needed to get the message across.
Lencioni urges managers to address the following three areas with their people:
Anonymity
People cannot be fulfilled in their work if they are not known. All human beings need to be understood and appreciated for their unique qualities by someone in a position of authority.
Irrelevance
Everyone needs to know that their job matters to someone. Anyone. Without seeing a connection between the work and the satisfaction of another person or group of people, an employee simply will not find lasting fulfillment.
Immeasurement
Employees need to be able to gauge their progress and level of contribution for themselves. They cannot be fulfilled in their work if their success depends on the opinions or whims of another person.
This universal model lends itself to rich examples from the celebrity, sports and corporate world as well as regular people in common jobs. Pat's simple wisdom found in The Three Signs of a Miserable Job goes beyond the organization and speaks to individual managers and employees. Lencioni states, "This book, more than any other, is at the center of why my firm went into business -to make people more fulfilled in their work lives." Lencioni believes that the way employees are treated at work can have a large societal impact. Fulfilled employees then treat their families, neighbors and communities better at the end of their workday.
About the Author:
Patrick Lencioni is founder and president of The Table Group, Inc., a specialized management-consulting firm focused on organizational health. With over two and a half million books sold, Lencioni is the author of six nationally recognized books, including The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, which continues to be highlighted on the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today best-seller lists. As a consultant and keynote speaker, he has worked with thousands of senior executives in organizations ranging from Fortune 500s and high-tech start-ups to universities and nonprofits. He has been described by The One-Minute Manager's Ken Blanchard as "fast defining the next generation of leadership thinkers." Pat's passion for organizations and teams is reflected in his writing, speaking, and consulting.

Now, users can get translations of unfamiliar words instantly without disrupting their reading or Web browsing by simply pointing the cursor at the unknown word. Fewer distractions allow for better reading comprehension because users no longer need to stop reading and flip through a dictionary in order to find a word. This feature is intended both for users who can already read foreign texts and for those who are making their first steps into the language.
The program comes with Lingvo Tutor, a tool for learning new words based on flash-card methodology. The 12th version of Lingvo Tutor can be installed not only on a desktop PC but is also compatible with handheld computer devices and smartphones.

NaviForum 2007 Product of China Award Opens in October
NaviForum 2007 Product of China Award Opens in October
SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 10 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- NaviForum 2007 Product of China Award, the first large-scale annual rating and voting of navigation products in China, was declared open by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, the organizer of the event. The rating and voting results will be published on the official website of NaviForum Shanghai 2007. The Forum is the largest scale international event in the Chinese navigation industry.
The Chairman Overseas of NaviForum this year is Mr. Bernhard Hofmann- Wellenhof, Director of the Institute of Navigation and Satellite Geodesy of the Graz University of Technology, Founder of the Austrian Institute of Navigation. Confirmed speakers include: Mr. Tsuguo Nobe, Car Wings General Manager of Nissan Motor; Dr. Jin Wang, Technical Supervisor of Mercedes-Benz; Dr. Roland Busch, Asia-Pacific President & CEO of Siemens VDO; and Mr. Azmoon Ahmad, CEO, Division Radio Navigation of Siemens VDO. Meanwhile, MODIBEC, a project intended to promote and support RTD cooperation between EU and China on digital broadcasting technologies, and also seek TMC for real-time traffic information solutions, will hold their only press conference in China at the Forum. Finally and most importantly is the latest news on the Chinese Compass (Bei Dou) satellite navigation system, a topic garnering broad attention in the industry, which will be delivered at the Forum.
The NaviForum 2007 Product of China Award encompasses 3 total awards: the "2007 Product of China," the "Consumers' Favorite Product" and the "Most Innovative Product." The voting criteria for the "2007 Product of China" was drawn up by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, auto makers and IT168.com in accordance with Chinese facts and with reference to international standards, which is the most comprehensive and authoritative assessment system for navigation industrial technologies and products in China. The system consists of 5 assessing items: hardware, software/map, appearances, market acceptance and field performance; and for each item, there are 50 sub- standards to ensure the review is conducted in fair-minded and authoritative manner.
The awards ceremony, which is at NaviForum Shanghai 2007, will be held at Shanghai Hua Ting Hotels & Towers on Dec. 5th. Related information is available at IT16B.com ( http://naviforum.it168.com/ ) for all navigation product makers and dealers, and rating and voting is also available for online application. As many know, the rocketing of the Chinese navigation industry in 2007 has stimulated an increase in navigation products and brands on the market and a decrease in the terminal price. Navigation is being brought to the attention of ordinary consumers, and the NaviForum 2007 Product of China Award has captured the attention of the industry. In particular, auto makers have been paying attention, as a concept of the auto-PND combination is taking shape during the automobile marketing activities in 2007. The Chinese in- vehicle navigation and portable navigation is predicted to multiply in 2008, and the sales of PND through auto dealers and 4S stores is estimated at more than 600,000 units. Therefore, the Society of the Automotive Engineers of China timely held this award rating and voting to help Chinese automakers to choose the right partners and to help consumers choose the right products.
Award rating and voting is intended to comprehensively review the Chinese navigation technologies and products which came out in the last year; encourage navigation companies to continue innovating, set up navigation brand images and enhance the sustained and sound development of the navigation industry; and direct consumers to select navigation products. As the international event of the highest level, the largest scale, and the most complete coverage of the whole industry chain in the Chinese navigation industry, NaviForum provides an interactive communication platform into the promising navigation future. Additionally, the Forum will also bring you into thorough discussions on domestic and international market demands, Chinese government policies on satellite navigation, the relationship between satellite and communications as well as between traffic information and dynamic navigation, and other topics of global attention.
NaviForum Profile
This Forum is hosted by the Department of High & New Technology Development and Industrialization under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of Map Management under the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, and the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality -- annually in Shanghai since 2004, as well as NaviForum Shanghai 2007. It is an international event of the highest caliber and the largest scale in the Chinese navigation industry. It has been selected, in the 2007 China Auto Exhibition Assessment Report, as "the best auto industrial seminar in China," ranking as one of the top three auto industrial conferences/exhibitions, which also includes the renowned Auto Shanghai. The event was also praised by Mr. Douste-Blazy, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, as "the most important Chinese convention on satellite navigation."

MRG Releases September 2007 Global IPTV Market Leaders Report
MRG Releases September 2007 Global IPTV Market Leaders Report
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- MRG, Inc announces the IPTV Market Leaders Report -- September 2007, which tracks the top 120 IPTV vendors in 24 regional sub-sectors based on their installed base for 6 product areas in over 600 IPTV Operations and 8 million subscribers worldwide.
"It's far too early to call the IPTV market 'mature,'" says Len Feldman, Director of IPTV Analysis for MRG, "but the industry is definitely becoming less volatile. In our last February '07 Report, 50% of the Number-One companies changed; but in this one, less than 20% of the Number-Ones changed." Yet, some volatility continues due to large increases in subscriptions (as seen at Verzion, France Telecom, Neuf Cegetel, Belgacom and Telefónica), and growing influence of Chinese vendors like Huawei, ZTE, and UTStarcom.
Another important shift is Alcatel-Lucent's Number One global position in Middleware which is based on its own (non-Microsoft) Middleware products. First-place industry leaders are expanding their lead, as illustrated by large companies like Motorola and Alcatel-Lucent.
Yet, there is room for small companies in most product areas, due to large regional and local variations in market demands, as illustrated by small companies such as Verimatrix and Kasenna, each of them global leaders. The report also anticipates growth potential that can be very important to small companies with installations in high-growth operations like China Netcom or Belgacom.
The Number-One companies for top share-of-market in the six global IPTV categories are:
Access: Alcatel-Lucent
Video Headend: Motorola
Middleware: Alcatel-Lucent
Video-On-Demand: Kasenna
Set-top Boxes: Motorola
Content Protection/ Digital Rights Management: Verimatrix
"This report provides unmatched granularity in the market niches and nuances that really count the most. The positioning and strategies within the regional sectors is where most companies are targeting their energies," states Gary Schultz, MRG President. "This report is a superb navigation tool for smart companies in a crowded market."
For a complete listing of the top companies in each of the 24 sub-sectors, see this link: http://www.mrgco.com/TOC_IPTV_MLR0907.html
For more information about the report, contact Rob Smith at MRG, rsmith@mrgco.com. Or, telephone 1-408-453-5553 (San Jose, CA, USA). The price of this 71-page (indexed) report is $3,995 USD for a printed copy, and $5,200 USD for a PDF format Departmental License. It is free for subscribers to the IPTV Tracking Service.
